CHARLES E. TURNER (1883-1965) CUNARD TO CANADA. Circa 1948. 40x25 inches, 101 1/2x63 1/2 cm. Condition A-: minor tears and abrasions at edges; minor creases and light foxing in margins. Paper. The four, one-funnel liners mentioned on this poster were all used on the England - Canada routes in the years following the Second World War. Turner designed a number of posters for the shipping company over the decades, and also designed a series of propaganda posters during WWII. Turner served in the RAF during the first world war, and some of his earliest posters for the London Underground reflect his aeronautic experience. Weallans p. 177.
