Loupot's design career began in Switzerland in 1916 when he primarily did work for exclusive stores such as Canton, Grieder and Loeb. This very sophisticated image shows a Loupot who has already acquired a strong visual personality, no longer using a flat, dark background that showed the influence of Cappiello. Depicting spring via an elegant young lady listening to the love twitters of birds in a cage, he employs a sophisticated creamy light-colored background that eventually became characteristic of his style. He also departs, possibly for the first time, from realistic depictions of products to more suggestive approaches, poetically hinting at the Spring fashions available in this store.
