From the green baize of the gaming tables, to the red and black enticements on a roulette wheel, to the image of a playing card as used in Baccarat, Loupot's design evokes many aspects of gambling available at one of the Cote d'Azur's premiere gaming resorts. Unfortunately gambling was one of the few enticements prohibited from being used to lure tourists to Monte Carlo, and so the French railway never actually used this dignified design.
