CHARLES STAFFORD DUNCAN 20,000 APPRENTICE SEAMEN. Circa 1917.
38x28 1/4 inches.
Condition B+: expert restoration and overpainting in margins.
A rare and unusual First World War Navy recruiting poster showing an orange-faced seaman against a black background; lettering in green. Although this poster dosen't bear a printer's mark, Duncan's other known posters were printed by the Schmidt Litho Company in San Francisco. There scarcity is due to the fact that they were only distributed on the West Coast.
