CHARLES WHITE (1918 - 1979)
Jerry.

Etching on thick wove paper, circa 1945. 254x203 mm; 10x8 inches, wide (full ?) margins. Proof, aside from a signed and numbered edition of 15. With rich, warm plate tone.

This impression of Jerry is the only example of this very scarce Charles White etching that we have located. Charles White made his very first etchings in the early 1940s while teaching at the Southside Community Art Center in Chicago. In 1945, White began teaching at Howard University as an aritst-in-residence. Lucinda Gedeon included this print in the addendum of her master thesis, supplying the title and edition size. Gedeon Addendum 9.
