This drawing is a page taken from one of the earliest sketch books of Charles White, circa 1937-38. White began his studies in the fall of 1937 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Unbound pages from the artist's sketchbooks were sold by Heritage Gallery in Los Angeles when it represented the artist's estate.
