"NEWS OF THE DEATH OF THE KING OF ENGLAND BROUGHT BY A STEAMER" CHARLES X; KING OF FRANCE. Two items: Autograph Letter Signed, "C" * Autograph Endorsement Signed, "Charles Philippe." The letter, to the Count of the Ferronnage, in French, requesting that he discover the truth about the rumor that the English King, George IV, is dead. 1/2 page, 8vo, with integral address leaf; folds. The endorsement, in French, "I keenly recommend this memorandum to the Count Corvetto," written in the left margin of a letter to the Minister of Finance Corvetto, in French, from someone seeking a position in the Court of Auditors. 2 pages, small folio, written on the recto and verso of a single sheet; minor loss to corners. Np, "Friday, 2 o'clock" [2 July 1830]; circa 1815
