CHARPENTIER, GUSTAVE. Two postcards: Autograph Musical Quotation Signed and Inscribed, three bars from his Louise * Autograph Note Signed, "GCharpentier." The quotation, to Miss Germaine Hadebal, the opening of the aria from the second act, "Dans la cité lointaine," notated on a hand-drawn stave, with holograph lyrics. Inscribed in the blank margins below and to the right of image, which is a 1/2-length portrait of Charpentier standing at a balcony overlooking the city. The note, to Mr. A. Chatelain, in French, sending a list of names, possibly candidates for a role. Each 1 page, oblong 12mo; faint marginal discoloration from prior matting to quotation, remnants of prior mounting at side edges on verso of quotation, cancelled 10-centime stamp on image side of note.
