Although this is one of the classic French Art Deco travel posters, the artist has remained virtually anonymous. The design is as stylized and elegant as the scene it portrays, in which rows of trees, seen in perspective, form a large "V" that focuses the viewer's attention on the spa's casino, visible in the distance. All copies of this poster previously at market have had the large, central "V" remaining empty. However, as this copy shows, the area was intended to be filled with travel information, in this instance in German, on the dates of the season and possible train connections. Hillion p. 104.
