" . . . Hopped the 'Hump' the next morning in fairly good weather and stepped out here [there] in time for lunch. The place sure looked good to me and, judging from numerous remarks, I looked good to it . . . The following Monday I packed the records and took them over to my eastern base where the boys live rather primitively - Heat, dirt, flies, mosquitos, etc. - and did they have fun! I left Friday and your records were still going round and round . . . They are the boys who blasted the Jap ground army in the recent campaign west of Ichang and they are still ready to do any other job of a similar nature . . ."<
