CHESLEY BONESTELL NEW YORK CENTRAL BUILDING. 1930.
401/2x261/2 inches. Latham Lith & Ptg., New York.
Condition B+: restored losses and repaired tears in bottom margin affecting text; repaired tears and creases in margins.
A dramatic evening scene of the New York Central Building, right above Grand Central Station, which is framed between the beams of two klieg lights and the venerable buildings on Park Avenue. Supposedly, when the railroad sold off this famous building, the new owners, in an attempt to save money on renaming the structure and changing all the signs, simply converted the name to the New York General Building, which entailed only the minor, inexpensive replacement of two letters!
