CHESLEY BONESTELL NEW YORK CENTRAL BUILDING. Circa 1930. 36x24 inches. Latham Lith & Ptg., New York. Condition B-: margins trimmed to image; repaired tears, creases and staining in edges. Mounted on board. A dramatic evening scene of the New York Central Building, right above Grand Central Station, which is framed between the beams of two klieg lights and the venerable buildings on Park Avenue. Supposedly, when the railroad sold off this famous building, the new owners, in an attempt to save money on renaming the structure and changing all the signs, simply converted the name to the New York General Building, which entailed only the minor, inexpensive renovation of two letters!
