"Britain is world famous for its pomp and ceremony . . . This poster shows the [Gold] State Coach, pulled by a team of eight horses and used by royalty since 1762. It is heavy (four tonnes) and gilded, so that its size and weight have restricted use to coronations, jubilees and weddings . . . [Clark] shows the Red Moroccan harness atop black stallions, with pairs of coachmen in full gold livery. Red-uniformed footmen walk alongside" (Furness vol. 5, p. 71). This is a rare variant, as the poster primarily appears with the text, "London - For State Occasions." Furness vol. 5, p. 71 (var).
