Millard was known for his book illustrations, sheet music & theatrical covers, promotional silkscreen travel posters and brochures for Hamburg-American Cruise Lines, as well as advertising material for Paramount Pictures. A prolific designer, he created hundreds of posters for RCA Victor Records during the 1920s and 1930s. This pictorial map utilized Millard's talent for illustration art, featuring side panels of 26 vignettes of New York City history, as well as many figures and landmarks throughout.
