CLAUDE MONET AND GEORGE W. THORNLEY
Ravin Petite Creuse<>.

Lithograph printed in blue on grayish blue India appliqué<>, circa 1908. 215x295 mm; 8 1/8x11 5/8 inches, full (4- to 6 1/4-inch) margins. Edition of 25. Signed by both artists in pencil, lower margin. Printed by Belfond, Paris. A very good, dark impression of this scarce print.

Monet likely acted on the advice of Degas, who had collaborated with Thornley on a suite of lithographs after his drawings (see Reed/Shapiro 25b) during the late 1880s, when he decided to create the current work (see lot ).
