By 1925 Buffalo was the home to thirty independant car companies, making it one of America's earliest automotive centers. Two of the most famous cars produced in the city were the Thomas Flyer and the Pierce-Arrow. As an early industrial center and a pioneer in automible manufacturing it is not wonder Buffalo was chosen to host an automobile show. The venue was the impressive, fortress-like, Connecticut Street armory, built in 1899, that remains standing through the present day.
