"I'LL DO THE ARTICLE ON STRAVINSKY IF YOU ALLOW ME" COCTEAU, JEAN. Autograph Letter Signed, to an unnamed editor or publisher ("Dear Sir"), in French, sending his poem, "Periscope" [not present], offering to write an article on Stravinsky, and, in a postscript, adding that "Rag Time by St[ravinsky] just appeared at Sirène." 1 page, 4to; moderate scattered foxing, moderate even toning, remnants of hinging at upper corners verso, folds. "Here's Periscope. I applied myself to have legible penmanship. Pay close attention to the form on the page--I marked the location in pencil.

"Périscope" was first published in his Poésies 1917-1920, Paris: Éditions de la Sirène, 1920.
"Ragtime" is a work by Igor Stravinsky whose arrangement for piano was published in 1919 by Éditions de la Sirène with a cover featuring artwork by Pablo Picasso.
