"The forthcoming work to which you refer is a short serial story, which was secured by Baron Tauchnitz at the time when he also purchased from me the right of republishing 'Miss or Mrs?' The two stories--this completed one, and the story now to be published--were sold together. "Under these circumstances, I can only beg you to accept my best thanks for the proposal which you have been so kind as to make to me."
