Additional Details

Rumsey lists the 1864 edition in which he states that this "large and detailed map of the Confederacy [was] taken from the southern portion of J. Calvin Smith's map of the United States. [...] Stephenson shows the 1862 edition by Bacon of London." The map was published annually from 1861 to at least 1864 - so this would be its second edition. Stephenson 37.5 (1862) and 37.6 (1863); Rumsey 4085 (1864).
