An archive of 22 photographs depicting the 1979 San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade.
A collection of 14 pastel-toned hand-colored photographs depicting various parade and nightlife scenes from the 1979 San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade celebrations. All of photographs feature variations of drag queens, dancing performers, packed parade floats, and celebratory spectators. The hand-coloring was done by the artist to accentuate the vibrancy of the celebations. Silver prints, the images measuring 333x254 mm; 13⅛x10 inches, and the reverse, the sheets 362x279 mm; 14¼x11 inches, and one image 238x178 mm; 9⅜x7 inches, the sheet slightly larger, each with Grodsky's credit stamp on print verso; 13 enclosed in the original artist mats. 1979.
