One of Cuba's great cartoonists, caricaturists and graphic artists, Massaguer, art director of the magazine Social (founded in 1916), designed art work for Cuba's pavillion at the 1939 World's Fair in New York and had many of his caricatures published in American magazines (Life, Cosmopolitan, The New Yorker and Vanity Fair). This same image was also used on postcards bearing the caption "So Near and yet so Foreign." Rare.
