The original pitch book for his TV series The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, containing photographs of the Calypso and original watercolors, the pitch book titled Conquest of Inner Space. With two Autograph Letters Signed by Cousteau to producer Marshall Flaum, as well as several pages of manuscript notes by Cousteau relating to the show, including what appear to be drafts of various narrations. A unique archive relating to Cousteau's ground-breaking television series. Originally the series was titled the Conquest of Inner Space, but when the program eventually aired on ABC the name was changed to the more familar Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. Thirty-six one hour episodes were produced in the Emmy-winning show's nine seasons. The thirteen original watercolors in the prospectus (by an unknown artist) depict the bridge of the Calypso, divers in various mini-subs, and even story lines for possible episodes. The manuscript material which accompanies the lot includes the introduction to a segment on submersibles, several pages of a corrected script, Cousteau's hand-written itinerary for the filming of an episode titled Warm Blood in the Sea, and more. a unique offering.
