Additional Details

Atlas corresponds in many respects to Koeman listing C&M 5. It lacks the "Introduction" leaf, and the "Preface" leaf has been trimmed. It contains all remaining text leaves. The maps correspond to C&M 4, but one of the African subject maps has been updated. It lacks the final two maps for C&M 4, but contains additional maps from the list. Koeman's 1733 edition cites 75 maps for completeness, but the maps are not listed. This atlas contains 9 additional maps from the 1730 edition, including 5 from Grand Theatre de la Guerre (plus the engraved double-page title). It is possibly an intermediate state, or a composite of some sort. Despite the physical faults, the atlas is presentable and could be nicely cleaned and repaired.
The extraneous maps mounted on the versos of the original atlas maps are generally 19th-century, but some are of interest and should be examined.
