This pair constitutes perhaps the most famous send-up of sans-culottes published in England during the French Revolution. Scenes of murder and barbarism abound; a child's dismembered limbs protrude from the Beau's pocket, labelled "For a stew", and the guillotine behind him reads: "This is our God".
