Additional Details

The St. Louis pharmacist and physician Crusius (1862-98) was an artist by avocation who created gruesomely humorous medical caricatures for display in the family drugstore. He sold designs to the Antikamnia Chemical Company, a maker of patent medicines, which published them in a series of 5 advertising calendars distributed as holiday keepsakes, of which the fourth is missing here.
