"Winterbranch," which premiered at Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum on March 21, 1964, with music by La Monte Young, centers upon the movements of falling toward, and rising from, the ground. "Signals," driven by a set of cues transferred between dancers, was first performed at the Théâtre de France in Paris on June 5, 1970, accompanied by the music of John Cage, David Tudor, and Gordon Mumma.
