Curt Peters was a talented, yet little-known Swedish poster artist working primarily in the late 1910s and 1920s. He infused his designs with bright geometric scenes and ample negative space, creating striking and playful promotions tailored to a variety of silent movies, theater performances and regional events. This whimsical poster dabbles in Expressionist and Modernist influences to celebrate the 37th season of the Gröna Lund, an amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden. Opened in 1883, Gröna Lund would eventually feature a carousel, tunnel of love and several roller coasters built around residential buildings and a small park from which it took its name.
