First edition, quarto, woodcut arms of the Camaldolese Order on title page, repeated on verso of final leaf of table; final leaf with official Vatican approval signed by two censors to the right of their woodcut ciphers and applied wax seal with a Catholic coat of arms; some contemporary reader's marginalia; bound in full contemporary limp parchment, nicely preserved, with minor faults and signs of wear, integral blank in first signature present ([a]2); 8 x 5 7/8 in.

This unusual imprint contains a compilation of Papal documents authorizing the Benedictine Order of the Camaldolese monks of Mount Corona. Dating back to their establishment by Saint Romauld in 1025, the order is still represented by communities in their native Tuscany and worldwide.
