Canfield Fisher, Dorothy (1879-1958)
Two Typed Letters Signed.

Including:

1) Typed letter signed February 22, 1935, to a Mr. Robb, thanking him for sending Corra Harris's Candlelit Column, noting, "What a pungent original personality hers was. She never wrote anything that was not marked by her own vividness." written on her Arlington, Vermont letterhead, rusted paperclip mark, old folds, 10 1/2 x 7 in.;

2) Typed letter signed January 24, [circa 1919?] to Halley mentioning a number of friends and associates in common, including Mrs. Bayard, Mrs. Conkling, literary agent Mr. Whipple, her husband's health, the winter in Vermont, and news of her children growing up, old folds, 11 x 8 1/2 in. (2)

The date of the unsigned letter is projected based on Canfield Fisher's reports of her children. Jimmy, born in 1913, is "actually beginning to learn to read, and he can ski to beat the cars." And Sally, born in 1909, "is sailing ahead in her studies and developing her personality into much more sweetness and light than has been the color of her individuality, which has been rather for strong, vigorous sincerity and fearlessness than for tenderness and gentleness."
