First edition, copy number 93 from a limited set 250 copies printed by Jonathan Stephenson at the Rocket Press in Oxfordshire; consisting of two large quarto-format cases with leather spines housing ninety-one illustrations for the iconic books printed from the original engraved wood blocks and one electrotype [Alice & the Dodo]; accompanied by Leon John de Freitas's A Study of Sir John Tenniel's Wood-Engraved Illustrations to Alices Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, explaining the story of the loss and rediscovery of Tenniel;s original wood engravings; all three housed in publisher's custom slipcase executed by the Fine Bindery in Wellingborough; the prints in separate folders, loose throughout, each of the two sets of illustrations housed in a custom morocco-backed solander case; all parts in excellent condition; with the original prospectus and order form inserted; 9 1/2 x 7 in.
