Folio, large woodcut of Saint Peter on title page; large woodcut of the Pope with his cardinals at the foot of the index leaf; very large woodcut printer's device to colophon leaf; extra-illustrated with two 16th century woodcuts after Hans Burgkmair, the first depicting the marriage of Frederick III Holy Roman Emperor and Eleanor of Portugal, performed by Pope Nicholas V of Rome; the second showing Eleanor kneeling before the Pope (both trimmed, the first print with an illustration of a bookbinding pasted to the verso; the second print mounted with an excised portion restored in ink facsimile); ribbon tabs added to fore-edges at a later date; bound in full contemporary Italian morocco with gilt-tooling to boards and spine, title to front board; four ribbon ties lost; first signature sprung; title page dusty; with some unidentified stamps; ex libris an unidentified 20th century Archbishop from Bourges, France with the first name Louis, with bookplate [possibly Louis-Ernest Dubois (1856-1929)]; illuminated initial H trimmed from a manuscript and pasted inside the front board; binding becoming decased; 13 x 8 3/4 in.
