First edition, translated by James Mabbe, folio, lacking final blank; bound in modern calf, antique style; 18th century signature of John William Chelcott of Cornwall crossed out on title page; purchased by the current owner from Seven Gables in 1972; contents not washed; the Brent Gration-Maxfield copy, with his signature and extensive notes in pencil on front pastedown and flyleaf, and gilt-tooled ex libris inside the turn-in; 10 1/4 x 6 1/4 in.
