Willis, 1729, 12mo, second edition of the first abridgement of the tale in English designed for the entertainment of children (originally published in 1721); with woodcut frontispiece bound opposite the title page and illustrated with ten text woodcuts, very rare, especially complete; bound in original sheepskin boards, brutally used as a cutting surface on both boards with many losses to the leather; housed in a custom box, contents toned, some edges trimmed; a few preliminary leaves mounted; 5 1/2 x 3 1/4 in.

2) The Life and Exploits of Don Quixote de la Mancha. With the Humorous Conceits of his Facetious Squire, Sancho Panca, Abridged, London: Printed for J. Harris, successor to E. Newbery, at the Juvenile Library, 1806, 12mo, illustrated with 8 plates, another juvenile adaptation, first Harris edition; bound in contemporary half red morocco and marbled paper boards, worn, 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 in.
