Folio, fourth edition of Chaucer's collected works, one of four undated variants (without priority), each of which names one of the booksellers selling the book; text edited by William Thynne (d. 1546); title page printed within four-part woodcut compartment, illustrated with woodcuts of the Knight and the Squire; separate title page for the Romaunt of the Rose with woodcut border; text in black letter in two columns throughout; woodcut initials used throughout; lacking final blank leaf; several early ownership inscriptions to title page; bound in 19th century full morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe and housed in a custom cloth-covered case; ex libris Herschel Jones, with gold-tooled morocco bookplate inside front board, deaccessioned from Manhattan College, rubber stamp at foot of folio xiiii; 11 3/8 x 7 5/8 in.
