First edition, octavo, first three words of the title in Greek, woodcut printer's device to title page; bound in full contemporary folded limp paper binding, very nicely preserved; contents toned with occasional marginal worming, ink inscriptions to title page; a large copy with deckle edges preserved on some leaves, 6 5/8 x 4 in.

Chytraeus was from a scholarly Protestant family in Rostock, Germany. He is credited with founding the university library there in 1569. This particular work is an examination of Aristotle's Rhetoric.
