First English edition, three 12mo volumes, half-titles present in first and third volumes; uncut in original boards, with paper spine labels; some foxing and light spotting, front board of first volume detached, others starting, staining to boards, text blocks loose, some spine losses and cracking; 7 1/2 x 4 1/4 in.

The Prairie, the third novel Cooper wrote in his Leatherstocking Tales, is chronologically the fifth and final installment of the tale, telling the story of Natty Bumpo's final year of life on the American frontier.
