Small octavo, a reissue of the 1606 edition with new general title page, expanded version of part two and a reprint of Discourses upon Seneca the Tragedian; bound in full contemporary calf, neatly rebacked with attractive label, later marbled endleaves added, with contemporary annotations in different hands on fly leaves and blanks, including that of a young Mary Good; the Pirie copy, with bookplate; a well-loved practical little book that has taken some knocks, with dog-eared pages and several leaves with fore-edge margins torn away; lacking first and last blanks, blanks M7 & M8 integral and present between the first and second part; four blank leaves added by the original binder between the end of part two and Discourses section; 4 3/4 x 3 in.
