Antwerp: Apud Hieronymum Verdussium, 1619.

First edition, first issue, with engraved illustration of Jerusalem on title; illustrated with text engravings throughout, mostly maps and city views, some taking up the whole page, with 3 engravings extraneous to collation added at pages 227, 361 & 379; bound in full period parchment (repaired; new endleaves; contents toned; intermittent staining affecting preliminaries and other areas; crushed area along top edge; blank bottom corner torn away on Aa1); 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 in.

"Cotovicus travelled to Syria and the Holy Land in 1598, via Corfu, Zante, Crete, Rhodes and Cyprus. The illustrations contain maps, views and plans of buildings and monuments, including five full-page maps (Corfu, Crete, Morea, Cyprus and Rhodes).
