Quarto, manuscript on laid paper consisting of 341 numbered leaves, fancy title page featuring a cardinal's hat; text throughout in a single column in a neat secretarial hand, brown ink; 26 lines per page; bound in full contemporary limp parchment tooled in gilt compartments with a cardinal's arms on front and an empty cartouche on the back; lettered with title on both; all edges gilt, lacking original ties; some foxing to contents; slight worming to covers; inscription dated 1622 with owner's name obscured inside front board; 8 1/2 x 6 in.

This work was published beginning circa 1615 across Europe. The text was edited by Jean Gallemart (d. 1625), a Belgian theological professor in Douai.
