Additional Details

Lake Tear of the Clouds is a mountain lake on the southwest slope of Mount Marcy in the Adirondack Mountains. It is considered by some to be the source of the Hudson River and is also famous for being the site where Vice President Theodore Roosevelt received notice on September 14, 1901 that President William McKinley was in critical condition after an assassination attempt. Roosevelt arrived in Buffalo after taking a 40 –mile midnight stagecoach ride and would be sworn in as President after McKinley's death that day.
