A coastal town in south eastern France, Ciotat lies equidistant between Marseille and Toulon. Renowned as the city chosen as home by the Lumiere family, and the subject of their (and the world's) first motion picture, "L'Arrivée d'un Train en Gare de La Ciotat. The Lumiere estate was sold to developers in 1925, and villas, a hotel and a casino with a pool were constructed between 1926 and 1930. A single postcard remains illustrating this beautiful Art Deco edifice and its pool, but no other historical trace can be found except this stunning Art Deco poster. Azur 208.
