Hirst, world-renowned as the star of the British contemporary art scene, is better known for his animals in formaldehyde, dot paintings and butterfly paintings than for his affiliation with the music world. However, as a penultimate self-promoter and marketer, he involved himself in many different projects. Such side projects included designing the artwork for Anthony Genn and Martin Slattery's album cover, a promotional poster for the band and similar skull-themed images for at least six of the group's singles. Skulls took on a larger role in Hirst's work in 2007 when he created For The Love of God, a platinum-plated skull adorned with 8,601 diamonds.
