Worth, sending receipt for $5,000 in treasury notes [not present], explaining that the bank made a loan on the notes to the U.S. government so it will be the Secretary of the Treasury who pays off the loan, adding that the acceptance of the notes by the New York bank allows [Secretary of the Treasury Alexander J.] Dallas to pay off the loan immediately, and, in a postscript, hoping to be in Albany before his note becomes due. 2 pages, 4to, with integral address leaf.
