La Dame de Chez Maxim was a three-act farce by Georges Feydeau, premiering in 1899. This poster was created for the first revival, in 1910, when Georgette Delmarès took the lead role. De Losques was a French artist and poster designer who contributed artwork to many publications, including Le Figaro, Le Rire, Le Matin, Excelsior and Le Monde Illustree. He founded his own printing press in 1910, but his artistic career was cut short; de Losques served as a bomber in World War I, and was killed when his plane was shot down by the Germans in 1915.
