D'APRES OBÉRON (DATES UNKNOWN) RADIO- L. L. 1934
62x46 inches, 158x117 cm. "Publi-Radio", Paris.
Condition B+: repaired tears, creases and restoration in margins and image.
Radio L.L. also produced radios, and the company's founder, Lucien Levy, was the first Frenchman to patent the use of a superheterodyne receiver (an electronic manner in which radio signals are simplified for processing by the receivers.) The company began producing radios in the early 1920s. Although nothing is known of the artist who designed this poster, we do see Favre's image from lot 74 appearing on the logo of the company's product. The Art Deco imagery incorporates all the elements of a good radio poster: the radio itself, the powerful broadcasting tower and the full orchestra playing music for the listeners to hear at home.
