Born in Jamaica, NY, the artist earned his M.F.A. in photography from Yale University School of Art in 1993, and now lives in Chicago, where he teaches at Columbia College, Chicago.
Bey has had recent solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Queens Museum of Art, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago.
