First edition, quarto, an alteration of Fletcher and Shakespeare's The Two Noble Kinsmen; British actor John Philip Kemble's (1757-1823) copy, author's name and edition statement to title in Kemble's hand, with the margin annotated "collated & perfect" with his initials dated 1798; treated in Kemble's characteristic style, with each leaf set within extended margins on all four sides throughout, with additional note in his hand on ffep regarding the exclusion of this play from the folio of D'Avenant's works, and its attribution to him by Langbaine on the authority of the publisher; ex libris Alfred Nathan, with gilt-tooled morocco book ticket inside front board, bound in full red morocco, rebacked, actual page size approximately 7 1/2 x 5 in., 8 3/4 x 6 3/4 in. with extended margins.
