artist's original mock-up of the first separate printing of this charming work which first appeared in de Bosschère's "Les métiers divins" (Paris, 1913). Elkin Matthews asked Pound to do the translation but his name did not appear in the work--Gallup B12.
The mock-up consists of 16 leaves, with illustrations cut and mounted to cover and leaf versos, titles in blue crayon, opposite; the title-page and end matter with indications as to placement of the English translations (which appeared on the inside rear cover of the final edition). Additionally laid into the book is an Autograph Post Card Signed by de Bosschère to Elkin Matthews, telling him the proof will arrive and where to return it to him, and commenting on the French translation.
