Additional Details

An original counter display for Arden's "Red Door Salon" on Fifth Avenue in New York City. In 1922, de Meyer began working for Harper's Bazaar (after defecting from Vogue). Shortly after, he produced a series of stylish advertisements for Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, in which he used the French model Cecile Bayliss. De Meyer's striking, mannequin-like images became a hallmark for the Arden brand.
