Advertising the first meeting of the Maccabiah Games. Similar to the Olympics, these first games, held in Tel Aviv, featured thirteen countries and over three hundred athletes. The event was intended to foster physical education, belief in Jewish heritage and a Jewish nation. Today it is a quadrennial event with thousands of participants.
